Car Battery Warranty in the UAE: What to Check Before You Buy
By 800 Motor · Updated
A car battery warranty covers manufacturing defects for a stated period. It is not a promise that the battery will last that long in every car. Before you buy, get the warranty period, start date and exclusions in writing and keep the dated invoice. At 800 Motor, battery warranties are provided by the manufacturer and may extend up to 24 months depending on the brand and model; a confirmed defect is resolved by free replacement.
What a battery warranty covers
A battery warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship under normal use and correct installation. If a battery fails a test because of a manufacturing fault within the warranty period, it is replaced. Gradual loss of performance through use and heat is ageing, not a defect.
The warranty period and the service life are different things. Two drivers with the same battery can see different results depending on how the car is used, how long it stands parked and whether the charging system is healthy. Compare batteries by their written terms, not by an expected lifespan quoted in conversation.
Common exclusions to read before paying
Most battery warranties exclude damage that the battery did not cause. A warranty claim is normally assessed by testing the battery, and often the vehicle’s charging system, to establish why it failed.
- Deep discharge, for example lights or accessories left on, or a car left parked for a long period.
- A charging-system or electrical fault on the vehicle that overcharges or drains the battery.
- The wrong battery for the application, such as a conventional battery fitted where AGM or EFB is specified.
- Physical damage, incorrect installation or unauthorised modification.
- No proof of purchase, or a claim made after the warranty period has ended.

Documents to keep with the car
UAE consumer protection rules require a supplier to provide a dated invoice showing the trade name, the goods or service, the price and the quantity. Keep it. A warranty claim without proof of purchase is likely to be declined.
- Dated invoice with the supplier’s name and contact details.
- Battery brand, model, technology and any serial or date code.
- Vehicle make, model and year the battery was fitted to.
- The warranty period in months and the date it starts.
- Any battery test printout from the day of fitting.

How warranty replacement works at 800 Motor
Batteries sold by 800 Motor carry a manufacturer or supplier warranty. Coverage may extend up to 24 months from the date of purchase or installation, depending on the product and brand, and the applicable period is confirmed at the time of purchase or on your order documentation.
To request a replacement, contact customer service with your order number, the item and a description of the fault. Photographic or physical evidence may be requested. The team reviews the request and confirms eligibility within 1–2 business days. An approved claim is resolved by a free replacement; refunds are not issued in place of a replacement. The full terms are on the returns and warranty policy page.
How to avoid losing the warranty
Fit the technology the vehicle specifies and have it installed correctly. Where the car needs the new battery registered with its battery-management system, confirm that the step is done. If a new battery goes flat more than once, ask for the charging system and electrical drain to be checked instead of repeating jump starts, because repeated deep discharge is both damaging and commonly excluded.
Before a long trip abroad, arrange for the car to be driven or the battery maintained. A battery left to discharge through a UAE summer may not recover, and that outcome is rarely treated as a defect.
